Hyderabad Management Association Hosts 53rd Annual Awards Function

The 53rd Annual Awards Function of the Hyderabad Management Association (HMA) was held with great distinction at ITC Kakatiya, Hyderabad. The event was graced by His Excellency Shri Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Hon'ble Governor of Tripura, as the Chief Guest and Hon'ble Justice Smt. Surepalli Nanda as the Guest of Honour.

In his welcome address, Shri Alwala Devender Reddy, President, HMA, highlighted HMA's six-decade legacy in nurturing leadership and management excellence. He emphasized HMA's flagship initiatives, including Saksham, a Campus-to-Corporate Readiness Programme aligned with NEP 2020 and global skill development priorities, aimed at preparing students for the future workforce. He also reiterated HMA's commitment to bridging academia and industry through leadership development, skill-building, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that have benefited thousands of managers and lakhs of students over the years.

Addressing the gathering, His Excellency the Governor observed that management is an integral part of every aspect of life and not merely confined to business organizations. He stressed the importance of discipline, continuous learning, adaptability, and effective crisis management in today's rapidly changing technological environment. Drawing lessons from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, he encouraged leaders to blend timeless wisdom with modern management practices to build stronger organizations and contribute to nation-building.

The Governor also commended HMA's role in promoting management education, leadership development, and industry-academia collaboration over the past six decades. He noted that institutions such as HMA play a critical role in preparing leaders to navigate technological transformation while upholding ethical values and professional excellence.

Speaking on the occasion, Hon'ble Justice Smt. Surepalli Nanda emphasized the need for greater integration of the judiciary, management practices, and Artificial Intelligence to enhance access to justice, improve efficiency, and deliver better public services in an increasingly digital era.                    
A total of 13 prestigious awards were presented during the HMA 53rd Annual Awards Function, recognizing excellence across industry, public service, entrepreneurship, education, media, and social impact.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon Shri U. Raja Babu, Director General (Missiles & Strategic Systems), DRDO, for his outstanding contributions to India's missile and strategic systems programmes and for strengthening the nation's defence and technological capabilities.

The HMA Member of the Year Award was presented to Shri Suresh Kochattil, Senior Journalist and active HMA member, in recognition of his distinguished contributions to journalism and his continued support to HMA's mission of promoting management excellence.

The event was attended by leading industrialists, entrepreneurs, academicians, professionals, students, and distinguished members of the management fraternity. HMA also recognized outstanding individuals and organizations for their excellence and contributions to society through its prestigious annual awards.

Secretary Vasudev G said said “The HMA Awards are evaluated by a neutral and independent Jury, comprising five eminent members from diverse walks of life  Mr. Shekar Reddy, Past President of CII; Mr. Sudhakar, Director of ICFAI; Dr. R.V. Chandravadhan, Retd. IAS; Justice Eshwariah, and Mr. Bal Bheem Vaidya, Retd. SBI Officer. Their deliberations are guided by fairness, inclusivity, and integrity, ensuring that recognition is based not on popularity or visibility, but on genuine impact, innovation, and contribution to society.
