The (HMA) successfully launched its Student Chapter and conducted its flagship initiative, “Samarth (समर्थ/సమర్థ)” – Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP), a two-day event held at Ashoka SchoolofBusiness, near Ramoji Film City. The programme marked a significant step towards nurturing entrepreneurial thinking among students, particularly focusing on empowering first-generation entrepreneurs by bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world business challenges.
The inaugural session witnessed the presence of key dignitaries including HMA President , Treasurer , MDP Coordinator , Director of Ashoka School of Business , and Dean , along with other distinguished guests.
Addressing the gathering, Alwala Devender Reddy highlighted the global shift from a “Just in Time” to a “Just in Case” approach, driven by supply chain disruptions, global uncertainties, and climate challenges. He emphasized that resilience, adaptability, and foresight are becoming critical attributes for modern leadership. Reflecting on Hyderabad’s growth journey, he noted how the city emerged as a global IT hub during the Y2K era and later played a crucial role as a vaccine hub during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Y. Lakshman Kumar underscored that entrepreneurship today extends beyond starting ventures, encompassing problem-solving, innovation, and courage. He stressed the importance of stronger industry-academia collaboration and appreciated initiatives like “Samarth” for providing students with practical exposure, confidence, and direction.
A key highlight of the event was the formal induction of students into the HMA Student Chapter, with Treasurer Ramesh Lakshmanan administering the oath and announcing the newly formed student leadership team. The Samarth (EDP) programme also features sessions by industry speakers Mr. Shivadhar Soma and Mr. Ravichandra Chada.
Speaking about the initiative, Alwala Devender Reddy described “Samarth” as a dynamic platform that enables young minds to transform ideas into actionable outcomes through structured guidance and mentorship.
The programme featured engaging sessions by industry experts and , offering participants valuable insights into real-world business scenarios and entrepreneurial strategies.
Participants gained hands-on exposure to key entrepreneurial concepts, practical learning experiences, and direct mentorship from seasoned professionals, making the programme both insightful and impactful.
The launch of the HMA Student Chapter is expected to significantly strengthen industry-academia collaboration and foster a vibrant ecosystem for aspiring entrepreneurs and future leaders.
Through initiatives like “Samarth,” the Hyderabad Management Association continues to inspire young talent to think independently, act confidently, and contribute meaningfully as entrepreneurs and job creators.
