Ambuja Cements Bhatapara Launches Water Conservation Project through Pond Deepening at Maldi Village

·         Ambuja Cements, as part of its CSR initiatives, launched a major water conservation project through the deepening of Bandha Pond in Maldi village, Chhattisgarh.

·         The upgraded pond will store up to 10 lakh cubic litres of water, benefiting Maldi and 7–8 neighbouring villages by improving water security and supporting two crop cycles.

·         The ceremony, held in the presence of senior company leadership, local Panchayat representatives and villagers, reinforces Ambuja Cements’ commitment to sustainable rural development.

Ambuja Cements, the 9th largest building materials solutions provider globally and part of the diversified Adani Portfolio, as part of its CSR efforts, launched a key water conservation initiative with the ground-breaking ceremony of deepening the Bandha Pond in Maldi village, Chhattisgarh.

The project aims to enhance water security for the communities of Maldi and 7–8 neighbouring villages by improving the storage capacity of the Pond to 10 lakh cubic litres. This intervention is expected to help reduce water scarcity, boost agricultural productivity, and enable farmers to undertake two crop cycles, thereby strengthening local livelihoods.

The event saw the participation of district leaders, five Sarpanches, Janpad Panchayat Upadhyaksh, three Upsarpanch, company officials, and around 70 villagers, reflecting strong community support for the initiative.

Following the ceremony, the team engaged in meaningful discussions with the local community, visited Mudhipar Primary School, and inaugurated a newly developed Rangmanch in Mudhipar village, further demonstrating Ambuja Cements’ commitment to holistic and sustainable community development.
